- 400 g (14 oz) extra-firm tofu, pressed and sliced into thick steaks
- 2 tbsp avocado oil or olive oil
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Keto Teriyaki Sauce
- ¼ cup soy sauce or coconut aminos (keto-friendly)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp erythritol or monk fruit sweetener
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ tsp xanthan gum (for thickening, optional)
Garnish
- Sesame seeds
- Green onions, sliced
- Fresh herbs (optional, as shown)
Instructions
- Press tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Season tofu lightly with salt and pepper.
- Sear tofu steaks for 3–4 minutes per side until golden and crisp.
- In a bowl, whisk all teriyaki sauce ingredients.
- Pour sauce into the pan and simmer until thick and glossy.
- Spoon glaze over tofu until fully coated.
