- 450g (1 lb) ground beef or ground pork
- 1 tbsp sesame oil (or cooking oil)
- ½ head green cabbage, finely shredded
- 1 medium carrot, julienned
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp ginger paste (optional but recommended)
- 3 tbsp soy sauce, coconut aminos, or tamari
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- ½ tsp black pepper super fine
- ½ tsp salt (adjust)
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- 2–3 tbsp chicken broth or water (if needed for softening cabbage)
- 2 tbsp sliced green onions
Instructions
1. Brown the Meat
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet/wok.
- Add ground beef or pork.
- Cook until browned and crumbly.
- Add garlic and ginger; cook 1 minute.
2. Add the Vegetables
- Add shredded cabbage and carrot strips.
- Stir well to coat with meat and oil.
- Add soy sauce, vinegar, salt, and pepper.
- Cook for 5–7 minutes until cabbage softens but still has texture.
- Add a splash of broth if the pan gets dry.
3. Reduce & Thicken
Cook until:
- Cabbage is tender
- Liquid is absorbed
- Mixture looks soft, moist, and blended
4. Garnish
Top with sliced green onions right before serving.
